• After installing Weglot and setting up 1 language translation. Weglot keeps insisting that the word count exceeds the 2,000 word free limit.

I’ve tried going through the Weglot translations and deleting the text content that’s been changed or deleted in the WP site content, but it keeps reappearing in the Weglot word count.

Am I missing some fundamental process in WordPress that would remove this redundant content, like a database optimise/clean routine? (I have run database optimise, but no change)

I’m struggling to understand how Weglot keeps finding text that’s either been deleted from my site or changed. The redundant passages continue to appear in the Weglot scan, along with the new version of the edited passage.

    Weird. Please help.

  • It could be that the plugin has already made translation queries to their server to translate 2,000 words. If this is so, then deleting words will not make a difference, because the number of allowed queries has been exceeded already.

But that’s only a guess: I’ve no experience with the plugin, and only the Weglot folks can tell you how they count words. So I’ll recommend you ask the Weglot folks in the plugin’s own support forum here:

    Good luck
