@georgcantor We’re sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue on your site.
Can you please provide us with an example URL of one of the pages that you are experiencing the issue with the preview not displaying in WhatsApp as expected, so that we can check into this further?
Also, regarding WhatsApp, their image requirements and recommendations are different from that of Facebook. Unfortunately we were unable to find an official guideline for the image requirements for WhatsApp, but you can find some similar recommendations here.
In the past it was recommended that the image needed to be under 300kb in size and 256x256px but not larger than 400x400px.
Hey,
Thank you for the quick response.

The dimensions you’ve indicated for WhatsApp are different from those to Facebook. Is it planned to be able to change the image for WhatsApp like it is for Twitter for example?
Thank you.
Hi @georgcantor,
Thank you for your reply.
That would be difficult, as both Facebook and WhatsApp look at the OpenGraph metadata on a given URL. There is no way to differentiate between these platforms and what data they look at in the page source.
Okay. In the meantime – what can be done?
Hey @georgcantor,
Thank you for following up.
We have tried the same image you have on a test site and WhatsApp did not take it. We reduced the same image to be lower in dimensions (1707×1138) and it did pick it up. Can you please try this on your site as well?
Hey, I’ve downgraded the image to a 1200x800px and it still doesn’t work.
