I set up a website with wordpress and wanted a static page as my home page. I have set up the pages and in the reading settings say I want ‘home’ as my front page and ‘blog’ as my posts page. When I click save I get the Error 404 message – not found.

Does anyone know how I can get around this? I’m using the latest wordpress with Kirby Theme. Thank you.

  • Do you have pre-existing pages called Home and Blog?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

Hello, this was a completely fresh install. I tried it with the default theme but that didn’t help. I have now deleted wp from that particular site now as I reinstalled it 2 or 3 times to try and get it to work and it never did. I have two other wp sites that work fine, very confusing.
