 * Hello,
    WordPress multisite is available as a separate download. Also– a single
   site WordPress download and installation can be converted into a multisite application
   by simply editing the wp- config file and adding additional lines of code.
 * Which application do you recommend for use for building multiple sites? The dedicated
   multisite application or the wordpress application converted to multisite by 
   editing the wp- config file.

 * No, it isn’t. There’s only one download for WordPress and it includes multisite
   support already.
 * There’s no application needed to build multiple sites, just these instructions.

 * After that create the sites as if they were a standalone WordPress installation
   each.

   multisite.
