 * Hello,
    To give some background: my site was receiving an error when trying to
   upload photos in posts. One of the support posts I read stated that it could
   be a plugin error causing this, and to try deactivating the plugins to see if
   there was a conflict. That seemed like a pretty simple fix.
 * In the process of deactivating them in the admin area, I selected “deactivate”
   however, the screen went blank as a deactivation was loading. My site as well
   as wp-admin are in white screen mode, and I have no idea how to bring it back.
   I do still have FTP access, but no way to login to the admin area to make any
   changes there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

 * Try:
    – switching to the default theme automatically by renaming your current
   theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder
   name using [FTP](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients) or whatever file management
   application your host provides.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

 * Thanks for the response. I’ve tried both of those options, and I still do not
   have access to the site or the wp-admin. Just the white screen.
 * One thing I did notice in the ftp back end is that my wp-config file shows 0
   bytes, and is blank in text editor. It looks to me that the time stamp on it’s
   last modification was around when I was trying to deactivate the plugins. Could
   this be an issue?
 * Thanks again!

 * Try checking your site’s error logs for messages. Your hosts should be able to
   help you accessing your site’s error logs.

 * That’s my challenge- my site is being hosted by my web developer, and I can’t
   get a hold of him. I figured I would try to see what I could accomplish here
   until I can get in touch with him. Thanks!
