• Hi there,

I’m new to this forum so I hope this is the right place to post my question.

I’m currently travelling and have a travel blog for friends and family. I post a lot of pictures on it (I love making pictures) and about a week ago I noticed that the quality of the pictures on my blog is lower than what I upload.

So i’ve checked and it seems that the pictures that end up online are the 768 px size, whilst i’m uploading larger pictures of 800 px size.

For instance, this is what i’ve uploaded in the media gallery: https://www.hannekeopreis.nl/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/lima-centro-17.jpg and wordpress makes it: https://www.hannekeopreis.nl/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/lima-centro-17-800×600.jpg

I guess WordPress makes it different sizes, there are a couple of thumbnail sizes right? But anyways. The full size is available.

But then when I go to my blog I see wordpress has changed it into: https://www.hannekeopreis.nl/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/lima-centro-17-768×576.jpg

    Which is a smaller size.

Now I don’t get why this happens. I’ve read a bunch of stuff about the compression of the quality going down from 90 to 82% to adding an add_filter rule in the functions.php to installing regenerate thumbnails to changing the size of the thumbnails in the media gallery. I’ve tried all sorts of stuff but WordPress keeps on posting the 768 px version in stead of the full size version.

Anyone have any idea how I can fix this. I can really see the difference in the pictures and I don’t like the quality of it. I want my pictures to show the real size, so 800 px not 768 px.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]
