# Why is WP forcing an https connection?

 * I’m trying to understand how and why WP is forcing an https:// connection, even
   though my database “siteurl” and “home” clearly show [http://domain_name.com](http://domain_name.com)?
 * I’ve checked my .htaccess file and there’s nothing there that appears to force
   the SSL connection, and I don’t see anything that’s in my wp-config.php either.
 * Thoughts?

 * The site isn’t externally available yet. It was hosted by GoDaddy, but it’s being
   migrated to our own data center, on our local LAN.

 * Check the config of your virtual host files, as they might also be doing the 
   redirection. When the site is publicly available and if you have the same issue,
   please post something.
