Widen theme

There are several options to create ‘more space’, some of which you may use in combination.
To name a few [in random order]:

• increase the overall width of the site
• change the width of the sidebars [individually]
• Change the with of the content area
• change the settings for margins, padding of the various areas of the page

Depending on the available ‘theme-options’ you can make these changes in the theme-settings or by making changes to the style.css.

Use a childtheme to make the changes in
Suggestion: use the ‘one click childtheme plugin’.

!NOTE
ALWAYS Make a backup of your site, before making any changes!!

1. Use FTP to backup the files.
2. Make sure to also backup your database.

You’ll need to post a link to your site after you have the child theme set up.

I was also trying to widen my site. I was able to make the site wider by increasing the .wrap max width however that throws off the spacing on the slider, and images and text.

Has anyone had success widening the page but also kept the formating to stay the same? Is there an easy way to do this or would I have to adjust every aspect that is off?
