# Widget doesn't appear

 * I have installed the testimonials widget on a demo site for the client, and it
   is working perfectly. Now I’m building the client’s site, and the widget not 
   only doesn’t appear, it stops the rest of the HTML from loading. When I look 
   at the HTML source code, it stops at the end of the last widget before the testimonials
   widget HTML should appear, i.e. the rest of the sidebar code as well as the footer
   code and the </html> closing tag is missing.
 * I am using the same version of WordPress and theme on both sites. There is no
   duplicate jquery.js in the theme or anywhere else. Any ideas?

 * Sounds like a PHP Fatal error. Check your error_log.
 * If still stuck, uninstall all plugins, then activate one at a time till the problem
   recurs.

 * Thanks for the quick reply. The error log shows the following:

 * Argh… I’ll need to work up a work-around for PHP servers without [Multibye String](http://www.php.net/manual/en/book.mbstring.php)
   support.
 * Haven’t web hosts around the world ever heard of UTF-8 and multiple languages?

 * For now, if you can downgrade to 2.7.8. You should be fine.

 * Yes, 2.7.8 works fine. Thank you very much! The host is a small company in the
   American midwest. I will contact them about upgrading their PHP.

 * Yeah, I had inspiration after a wonderful break and meals with friends and my
   wife. Release 2.7.13 resolves the `mb_strlen` and `mb_strcut`.
