why are these widgets here, theres a search and an archive one but i have no widgets anywhere

Hi there,

Some default widgets are there to fill the space when you are using a sidebar layout without any widgets added.

You can just change the layout to Content (no sidebars) here: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/sidebar-layout/
