    Is text widgets the best way to use for videos, flashbanners, slideshows

 * For videos and slideshows there are plugins that assist you with the rendering
   and that often offer sidebar widgets as well like Next Gen Gallery (sldieshows/
   images). But yeah, you can embed stuff in text widgest as the can contain html.
