# Widgets are missing

 * Hi there,
 * When I want to adjust some of my widgets, I go to Appearance -> Customize -> 
   Widgets and when I click on one of the widgets, for example Front Page 1, it 
   looks empty (while it is not empty) and I cannot add, adjust or remove anything
   from there. This happened from the \moment I updated to the 5.8 version.
 * Also my social media icons disappeared and are now little blocks since the update.
 * I really hope this can be solved ASAP. Thanks in advance!

 * Hi, simoneromana, starting with WordPress version 5.8, the widgets editor is 
   now block based.
 * Some sites may have issues, so in your case I would recommend that you install
   the Classic Widgets plugin – [https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-widgets/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-widgets/)–
   and reach out to your theme support to alert them of the issue so that you don’t
   need that plugin to have the widgets working properly with the new editor.
