• I was in the process of editing one of my many “visual editor” widgets, and all of a sudden every single one disappeared. Half of the widgets on my website, easily 10, are simply gone! Not in the trash. Not saved as “inactive”. Just GONE!

This is the second time this has happened in the past month. Before I didn’t have as many “visual editor” widgets active, and thought I had done something wrong. Now I know it is a problem with this plugin. Now I have to spend the next hour or more adding each widget back in from scratch while important information is missing for my visitors to see.

Needless to say, I will be finding another plugin, and will never again recommend Black Studio in the many website creation classes I teach.

  • Hi SharonLathan

Sorry to hear about this. If you haven’t re-built yet you could perhaps try a few tests:

    1. Ensure Black Studio is still installed and activate under Plugins.

    2. Temporarily de-activate all other plugins, leaving only Black Studio activated.

    3. Re-check the problem. If the problem has resolved, re-activate your plugins one by one, after each activation, check to see if the problem has re-occurred.

    4. If de-activating all other plugins didn’t help, then try testing with a default theme like Twenty Fourteen activated and all other plugins de-activated.

Using the above process you can check for plugin and or theme conflicts. If that doesn’t turn up anything you could check for JavaScript errors on your Appearance > Widgets page where you had Visual Editor widgets inserted, here is how:

Unless Black Studio have seen the particular bug you’re describing, there isn’t much they can do without further testing. Running the above first would lay the foundation for resolving the problem quickly.
