Widgets on Home Screen

Hi,

I was wondering if there’s any way I can add Widgets to the sections on the Home screen? Last theme I worked on – Zerif Lite – had this functionality and I would really hope this there’s some way of adding widgets in the Home sections of this theme too. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
