Will NOT Process Donations
-
We have used Give for over a year, but three weeks ago, it just stopped working. Completely. The common reply from Give is ‘it your problem, check with your host.’ Well, I did that, and they checked through all your suggestions, and says it’s on your side. On our side, we’re losing badly needed donations. Is this plug-in permanently broken? Please advise. If this plugin is defunct, we’ll have to look at other possibilities, and soon. Thank you.

Hi @cityotter
Is this the first post about this? We’re definitely happy to look into this, and almost never just send folks away without a very clear explanation for the host as to what _exactly_ the problem is.
First, I did check out the site that you linked to here, and I am seeing a “white screen” after I make an attempted donation.
My first step any time there’s an error is to check to make sure nothing has changed in the settings. Navigate to Donations > Settings > Payment Gateways > PayPal and ensure that the correct email is there. Save the settings for good measure.
Then, check the logs at Donations > Tools > Logs to see if any error message is shown.
Pass along the error message here.
Also, please send along your System Info.
Navigate to Donations –> Tools –> System Info (tab) and click the button to “Get System Report” and copy/paste that in your reply here.
That will give me some more context to be able to help.Yes, there is a white screen. My paypal has always been connected through the website via Give. Now, did give make a change where I have to create a ‘business’ account to accept donations? i don’t understand. I don’t understand ANY of this. I really need help figuring this out.

We’ll definitely get to the bottom of this.
In answer to your question: no, we’ve not changed anything with regard to the process needed to accept payments with PayPal. All you should need to do with PayPal standard is to put in your PayPal email address, and things should work.
Here’s a screencast showing exactly how to get that done:
That first error that you sent is saying that a log migration failed (maybe, it’s hard to tell from what I see here).
Let’s try re-running the database migration as I mentioned in the screencast, and see what we can find.
Keep me posted.
Ben, @benmeredithgmailcom have you been able to find anything? It has been a week without donations for us. I haven’t heard back. What are we supposed to do?
Hi @cityotter
My suggestion was for you to rerun those database migrations and the to follow up with details as to what you are seeing. Did you follow those instructions? If so, what was the result?
Hi @cityotter,
Just checking in on this issue.
Do you still need assistance here?
