# Will this plugin be maintained?

 * Hi, I have no problem with this plugin, but I found out, that the plugin page
   [https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/contact-form-7-to-database-extension/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/contact-form-7-to-database-extension/)
   doesn’t exist any more.
 * Will this plugin be maintained?

 * No, it appears that the developer has moved on to other things. We have tried
   to communicate with him here and at Github but he is not responding. It is a 
   disappointing and frustrating loss.

 * Although the plugin is not listed on WP.org it can be found on GitHub. But you
   will need to do a couple things to make sure you can always update to the latest
   version.
    * Download the lates release from GitHub [https://github.com/mdsimpson/contact-form-7-to-database-extension/releases](https://github.com/mdsimpson/contact-form-7-to-database-extension/releases)*
   Uninstall the one you have * Install the new version plugin via your WP plugins
   page by uploading the downloaded file * Similarly install a plugin that will 
   track updates from GitHub: [https://github.com/afragen/github-updater/releases](https://github.com/afragen/github-updater/releases)
   When the plugin is updated, you will see a notice in the plugins page like normal,
   except it will be updated from GitHub.

 * Wonderful to see the update. I am glad to see that the concept is not dead. To
   celebrate I made a long overdue donation. Thanks for this great software. So,
   what I understand is that you are done with WordPress and are just going to work
   through GitHub from now on. The updater is a nice compromise.

 * Just a security question before I update the plugin according to Your description
 * What about the CF7 data already already save by the plugin – won’t it be lost????
 * if so – do you have a workaround for saving that data so it won’t be lost??
