# Windows Server Multisite Installation

 * Hi Everyone,
    First of all thank you for helping me.
 * 1.I am running WP 3.21 on windows IIS server space hosting. can i run wordpress
   multisite in windows hosting?.If so please refer me to the installation guidelines
   section please.
 * 2.I enabled multisite in my local WAMP server installation on Windows XP.
    After
   multisite installation,WP by default takes subdirectory installation.After that
   when i go to multisite admin page, WP page “add new site” “add new user” is being
   shown.After i click “add new site” the screen goes blank and nothing appears.
   i dont know what to do. if i refresh,a message ” do you really want to do this”
   shows up and nothing happens . can somebody help me.

 * 1. Yes. It’s the same as installing WordPress itself, but you have to know how
   to edit your .htaccess (or equivilent).
 * 2. Blank pages are usually PHP errors. Was WordPress working okay before you 
   turned on MultiSite?

 * Dear Ipstenu,
    Yes WP was working normally and i like this WP. Multisite installation
   asks me to replace .htaccess file. But i cannot find it anywhere in WP folder.
   When i create a .htaccess file with Editplus and save in WP root folder and then
   try to log in,i get a big error message:”Internal server error.Please contact
   your network administrator”.Then once again when i delete the .htaccess file 
   and then login ,i can go only to add site but after that screen goes blank.
 * I tried with my hosting account.There i can add sites as subfolders.WP says site
   created,but when i visit those newly created sites,i get “page not found error”.
   Neither i can find the newly created subfolders with filezilla on my domain.My
   host does not allow creation of wildcard subdomain and i have to install only
   as subfolders only.

 * The point is this: If you’re using IIS and don’t have apache and mod-rewrite,
   you need to modify your web.config file.
