# woocommerce – database update

 * Hi,
 * I have the following question.
    For a client I am doing a large overhaul of his
   website. I do this on a local version of his site. I am not just making a new
   theme, but also updating quite a lot of the content.
 * While I do this, the old site is still online.
    And from his woocommerce webshop
   books are still being ordered.
 * Any advice on how I can get the new orders from the old site into the new site?
   
   I cannot just use the old database, because of all the other content changes…
 * I hope someone can help or tell me where I can find instructions of how to do
   this.

 * The standard WordPress export method is not only works for the entire WordPress
   data site-wide,
    you can also export only the selected post types such as pages,
   comments, products, orders, …
 * But the standart export/import function is generic,
    so you may need some other

 * Hi,
 * Thanks for your reply. Sorry I didn’t react sooner, there were some more urgent
   issues to take care of first…
 * But I think you may have helped me big time there…
    I was so stuck in my mind
   doing it through phpmyadmin that I forgot the export and import function of WP
   itself… Looks like that is exactly what I need!
