WooCommerce Square CC Forms Not Processing Payment

I had a customer tell me they could not click on the CC forms to input their info at checkout. I’m not sure how long this issue has been occurring, but our site has auto updates disabled as well as a Disable All WordPress Updates plugin installed (by who built the site).

I currently have WP 6.0.3 and Woocommerce Square 3.3.0. The fields are now visible and clickable, but the payment processing is still not functioning.

Thanks for reaching out!

I checked your site, added a product to the cart, and verified that the input fields for CC details are disabled.

On my personal site running on the default Storefront theme, this is what I’m seeing on my end:

I’d like to understand your site properly, can you please share your System Status Report, that will help us further troubleshoot.

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.

If you could also provide the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

Thank you for reaching back, clarifying further and sharing the site’s System Status Report (SSR).

The first thing that stands out in it, is WC Version: 3.6.4

Furthermore, there is the Disable All WordPress Updates: by Oliver Schlöbe – 1.6.6 plugin active, which means that updates are disabled for a reason on the site.

If that is the case, feel free to use the “Staging environment“, available with your host; thus allowing for safe experimentation while updating the WordPress & WooCommerce core, along with the rest of the plugins and custom code.

In detail:
Kindly update WooCommerce to the latest version. Check out the support documentation here, on how to do so.

Additionally, since WC Database Version: 3.6.4, kindly go ahead with updating the WooCommerce database, under WooCommerce > Status > Tools.

WP Version: ❌ 6.0.3 - There is a newer version of WordPress available (6.1.1)

Subsequently, I suggest updating WordPress to the latest (6.1.1) version also.

Thanks so much. Yesterday I spent a while on a staging site updating WP to 6.1.1, and a few other plugins, but have not yet updated WooCommerce itself.

I was mainly running into compatibility issues with WooCommerce Square, displaying but not processing payment, displaying but not being clickable, or not displaying at all.

If there is a known sweet spot for WC Square versions that play nice with WP 6.1.1 I’m all ears! I will update WC and report back with any news.

I’m sorry to hear about this issue.

Please be advised, WooCommerce is a plugin that is constantly making enhancements, it means it is constantly rolling out updates (several times during the year), my recommendation is to update WooCommerce, WordPress, the database, and WooCommerce Square. Then please check again to see if the issue persists.

Update:

I’ve reset my staging site to where it used to be and only updated WooCommerce Square to 3.3.0. This version seemed to be having luck according to other tickets regarding this issue.

The credit card forms are visible and clickable. Now, when I go to place an order there is an error that I can’t seem to see, but when inspecting with developer tools, it simply points out a “woocommerce” error.

The order is recorded in the Orders tab, but payment is not processing.

If you don’t already have a screenshot service installed, you can try https://snipboard.io or http://skitch.com/. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.

Meanwhile, please try to update WooCommerce Square to version 3.4.1 alongside with WooCommerce and WordPress as well?

Then, on your staging site, switch to the default Storefront theme and only WooCommerce and WooCommerce Square plugins are only active.

Please enable Square logging by going to WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Square > Debug Mode > Save to Log, then try to replicate the issue here and see if this works?

Otherwise, please provide the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.
