    Hi there,

I updated my plugin today and noticed that something with the SEO plugin Yoast went wrong. It seems as it can not read the content within the recipe maker, as it shows word count as 0. I also had some recipes ranked on google and when I googled the keyword the complete recipe was showing as top result. However, that seems to be gone too.. Any idea how that could have happened?

    Thanks

We excluded the recipe content from Yoast SEO quite a while ago because the recipe format doesn’t really work well with their readability score. So the suggestions in Yoast are for the post content and it basically ignores the recipe in the post.

That does not have any SEO implications however. Google sees everything, including the recipe and its metadata on the page.

Google rankings change all the time and it’s definitely not because of this Yoast thing.

You can test a recipe on your website to see if there are any issues with the recipe metadata using Google’s Structured Data Testing Tool.

I tested a few recipes on your website and did not find any problems. When I searched for some I’m also getting rich snippets in the search results, so everything looks fine to me.
