One of the sites that I assist with just recently started getting “There has been a critical error on your website”.

This seemed to be related to WF as when disbaled it did not occur. I did find some posts also identifiying WF and suggesting to uninstall, clean and reinstall. I have done that and I do not seem to be getting the above error.

However on the checkout page we are using the WooCommerce Australia Post Shipping extension which looks up the postage cost. When WF is active the cart cannot ontain a postage quote and is just stuck spinning. When WF is disabled a delivery cost is returned.

Can anyone suggest how we can stop this function from being blocked?

    Hi there,

However on the checkout page we are using the WooCommerce Australia Post Shipping extension which looks up the postage cost. When WF is active the cart cannot ontain a postage quote and is just stuck spinning. When WF is disabled a delivery cost is returned.

I would try and enable WordFence Learning Mode: https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/learning-mode/#how-to-use-learning-mode – this should add Australia Post IP address ranges to the WordFence whitelist. WordFence should then allow the connection.

    Kind regards,

    Con,

Thanks for assisting. I have tried the learning mode and it makes no difference. I have left WF enabled and just disabled teh Firewall. The issues definately appears to be related to the firewall component.

I have also noted that the “There has been a critical error on your website” is also reoccuring. There is also some bugginess to the display of the cart contents (widget), when the Firewall is enabled.

    Hey again!

I would recommend checking with the WordFence team relating to this since the issue is recurring.

Can you share any more details about what the critical issue you are seeing is? There is normally more to that message there, perhaps there’s some info in the logs. WP Admin → WooCommerce → Status → Logs. there should be one for fatal errors there, likely with some more info

    Hi there,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

    Kind regards,
