# WordPress 3.0 Custom Menu Bug

 * Please tell me i am missing something.
 * Let me start off by saying that I am using the twenty 10 theme and that my WordPress
   install is fully up to date. Whenever I try and use a custom menu it removes 
   the top menu from the site completely as can be seen here.

 * I have the same problem when adding widgets. If I add a widget to the primary
   widget box all of my widgets disappear from the site as well.

 * What’s going on here is that there is a default list of “widgets” that are built
   into your theme. When you start using the Appearance>>widgets section of your
   admin, you kick off an if..then statement in your theme which tells the sidebar
   to ONLY show the things you have added.
 * More than likely, the items in your sidebar are items that are available as widgets.
   So, you can just grab the ones you like and add them in as widgets.
