WordPress Address and Site Address problems

I am hosting a WordPress site on my Raspberry Pi and have been using it’s ipv4 address to connect. I port forwarded 80 to it and am trying to figure out how to use my public ip to connect instead of my pi’s address. When I changed the WordPress Address and Site Address in the general settings from the ipv4 to my public ip it stopped working (404 error). I have done a lot of goggling so I have seen every single support topic just as a heads up.

EDIT:
I should probobly mention that if I currently type in my public ip address it sends me to my index.php but if I try going anywhere else it changes my public ip to my static in the browser’s url bar which won’t work since I am not on the network
