# WordPress Admin Panel 404 Error

 * Hello, I have been using WordPress for a long time but this is the first time
   I encountered this error and I wanted to write to you as I could not solve whatever
   I do.
    Although I view my site’s shares without any problems, I get a 404 Error
   while accessing the WordPress Admin Panel. Since I did not access the panel at
   all, the result did not change even though I made the changes specified in the
   htacces file. What can I do about this topic? Can you help me?

 * Are you saying you can not access the dashboard?
 * If so, since when? That is, what did you do before this error occurred?

    I haven’t been accessing 
   the control panel in three or four months. I did not make any innovations before
   the error occurred. I was adding daily news just because I was trying to create
   a news site. I haven’t received a new template or software update. For this reason,
   I do not know what caused it.

 * Try [manually resetting your plugins](https://wordpress.org/support/article/faq-troubleshooting/#how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-the-administrative-menus)(
   no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one
   individually until you find the cause.
 * If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via [SFTP or FTP](https://wordpress.org/support/article/ftp-clients/),
   or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to `/wp-content/
   themes/` and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force
   the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (
   theme functions can interfere like plugins).

 * Sorry for the late response, I thought I wrote the answer before, but there was
   a glitch due to my internet connection. I did exactly what you said, but nothing
   has changed. I still cannot access the panel. [@t-p](https://wordpress.org/support/users/t-p/)
