 * I recently installed wordpress on two domains using cpanel/fantastico, then upgraded
   to 2.0.2, no problems.
 * I have one setup in the root directory of the domain and the other in a subdirectory
   of another domain.
 * /mysite.com/
    /mysite2.com/wordpress
 * I then installed Dew-NewPHPLinks from fantastico.
 * /mysite.com/dew
    /mysite.com/wordpress/dew
 * On both sites, the installation went fine and I can see the dew just fine. however,
   I cannot access the admin panel.
 * /mysite.com/dew/admin/
    /mysite2.com/wordpress/dew/admin
 * both links should popup a login panel to sign in.
 * when I installed dew onto a non-wordpress site, everything is fine and I can
   login to the admin panel and administer.
 * Same host, same version everything.
 * I’ve dropped a note into the dew-code.com forum,
    [http://www.dew-code.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=761&post_id=2717&order=0&viewmode=flat&pid=0&forum=5#forumpost2717](http://www.dew-code.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=761&post_id=2717&order=0&viewmode=flat&pid=0&forum=5#forumpost2717)
 * First response was “that’s odd”.
 * Anyway, seems to be something wordpress is doing, was wondering if anyone else
   is having this problem and a fix.
 * it’s not critical, but would be nice to have a links manager on the same domain
   as the blog.
 * Thanks.

 * Hi Rob,
 * Had the same problem. But I’ve just solved it, I think!
 * Seems like the problem is with the final configuration.
    As you are aware, it’s
   a two step install process. The first step sets up the database.
 * It’s the secound step that is causing the problem.
 * The secound step has the following message:
 * “ATTENTION! Installation of Dew-NewPHPLinks requires an additional step!”
 * “Click here to protect the administration area”
 * If you do as requested you won’t be able to log into the admin area. What I did
   was ignore this instruction and clicked back to c-panel admin and was able to
   log into the directory.
 * Hope this helps.
 * All the best.
 * Steve McEwen
