 * Hello,
 * I read the FAQ about version compatibility, but WordPress seems to display other
   versions in the plugin page (WordPress 5.2 and PHP 7.2 in the FAQ vs WordPress
   6.2 and PHP 8.1 in the WP page).
 * I’m currently handling an issue on an old and outdated website for a client (
   impossible to update due to broken stuff, currently being rebuilt), which runs
   on WP 6.1.7 and Php 7.4 (with an outdated BuddyPress, WpBackery and WooCommerce)
   and we’re encountering some server load issues. Query Monitor suggested to install
   APCu since it’s enabled in the server, with +90% hits while not being handled.
 * The question is, can I install the plugin under such configuration ?
   Also, is
   it possible to find older versions of the plugin if the latest version is not
   recommended ?
 * Thanks in advance for any insights.
   Best

 * Hello [@jollycoder](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jollycoder/) and thank
   you for your interest in my plugin <3
 * You’re totally right, the FAQ is definitely outdated: the current version of
   APCu Manager needs WordPress 6.2 and PHP 8.1 at least.
 * Nevertheless, you can try to use and old version (note, in this case, I can not
   provide support). To download and old version go to the advanced view of the
   plugin’s page: [https://wordpress.org/plugins/apcu-manager/advanced/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/apcu-manager/advanced/).
 * The last version compatible with PHP 7 and WP < 6.2 is APCu Manager 3.7.2
 * Hope it helps

 * Thank you for your quick response !
 * I was able to download the 3.7.2 version, but I’m quiet hesitant to install it
   now. Are there any irreversible actions that the plugin do after activation,
   and possibly after configuring the object caching ?
 * I’m trying to see if it’s possible to just delete it without a problems if anything
   happens.
 * Thanks again.

 * It’s an object cache so, no, it will not modify post or product or whatever.
 * After installing it, just go in the plugin settings and check “activated” for“
   Object cache” option and leave all other settings “as is” (to start).
 * If it’s working, great!
 * If it’s not working, just uncheck the previously mentioned option. If you can’t
   do that (white screen, error, etc.) just remove the plugin via ftp and the `object-
   cache.php` file located at the root of the `\wp-content` directory.
 * That’s it!

 * Thanks ! I’ll give it a try then.
 * Have a nice day !
