 * I am unable to edit posts, add tags and do some other key things in WordPress
lately. Any idea what could be causing this problem?

 * Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one
individually until you find the cause.
 * If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Default theme (WordPress
1.5 – 2.9.2) or the Twenty Ten theme (WordPress 3.0 and higher) to rule-out a
theme-specific issue (theme functions can sometimes interfere with the admin
   panel.
 * If neither of those work, you may need to repair the database.
 * Access your WordPress database via phpMyAdmin (most hosting providers offer this
in their control panel), check all of the tables, and choose “Repair tables”
   from the pull-down menu.

 * Thanks. I thought I had fixed it by getting rid of a faulty plugin, but the problems
persist. When I edit a post and switch the author, the visual editor stops working.
Not sure why this is happening all of the sudden…I haven’t made any changes to
   the blog in a while.

 * Also, a link toyour site could help us look for anything fishy in your source
   code.
 * Your WP version 2.8.5 is pretty out of date, so vulnerable to hacking…. which
can make the backend go all wonky

 * I want to upgrade to v3.0 but I use 1and1 as my host and that requires me to
upgrade all my databases which I found to be very challenging.

 * Well, on the plus side..your source looks clean…no signs of hacks
 * If you can figure out the upgrade thing, that may help clear up your problem…
   if its file related
 * otherwise the help offered by [@james](https://wordpress.org/support/users/james/)
   is quite useful
