 * Which one is the best free beginner friendly backup plugin for WordPress. Or
   Should I use cPanel’s backup and restore feature?

 * UpdraftPlus is very beginner friendly, [https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus](https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus)(
   note, I work for UDP but look at what the reviews say about simplicity of setup
   etc).
 * The reason it’s the highest rated and most popular backup plugin on WordPress.
   org is because people regularly have problems with other backup plugins and eventually
   come to UDP.
 * It’s much easier to use a plugin than the backup / restore on cPanel. Reason
   is you should set schedules for regular backups, and it’s essential to backup
   to a cloud storage location like dropbox to avoid server-wide risks (for some
   reason some backup plugins suggest backing up to the same server!).
 * Also, having a backup plugin with a one-click restore will save hours if and
   when you restore the backup.
 * There’s lots of things that can go wrong with backups, and it’s easy to write
   a backup plugin that works 80% of the time. But backups are too important for
   80%, so make sure you get the best and don’t find out too late.
 * Finally, look for a backup plugin that has good personal and quick support if
   you have issues.
 * Hope this helps: [https://updraftplus.com/wordpress-backup-plugin-comparison/](https://updraftplus.com/wordpress-backup-plugin-comparison/)
 * On this basis, we believe there’s only one plugin that has all the essentials
   by default and a lot more features besides.
 * Let me know how you get on! 🙂

 * Hi joe,
    Thanks for your explanation. I also asked in some Facebook groups about
   the best backup plugin and most of them recommended updraft plus. I really like
   the UI of the plugin. And it is easy to use too. At this point I have decided
   to create a scheduled backup with UPdraftplus. I will also backup through cPanel
   occasionally and save a local copy for extra precaution.
