 * We are hosting our websites on wpengine.com and whenever we are updating the 
   websites a plugin, wordpress core engine installing itself:
 * wp-content/plugins/core-engine/index.php
 * According to wordfence its a malware. Please let us know the use of this plugin.

 * I would recommend that you contact wpengine support about this. Other mandatory
   plugins are also installed there. The name also points to wpengine as the originator.

 * I’m 99% certain that the “Core Engine” plugin is malware. I had it on one of 
   my sites as well. You should run a complete malware scan on your site.
