# WordPress database error: incorrect file format for comments

 * I’ve been away from my blog for a few weeks and haven’t touched a thing, but 
   am now getting a wordpress database error that my comments are in an incorrect
   form. Here’s the error message:
 * >  WordPress database error: [Incorrect file format ‘wp_comments’]
   >  SELECT COUNT(*)
   > FROM wp_comments WHERE comment_approved = ‘0’
 * I also get the following message:
 * > WordPress database error: [Incorrect file format ‘wp_comments’]
   >  SELECT comment_author,
   > comment_author_url, comment_ID, comment_post_ID FROM wp_comments WHERE comment_approved
   > = ‘1’ ORDER BY comment_date_gmt DESC LIMIT 5
 * I’ve tried to repair the database but the error seems to be with wordpress and
   not with my host. What else can I do?
