# WordPress Error

 * Just installed Independent Analtytics on Word Press and received this error directly
   from WordPress:

       Active theme: GeneratePress (version 3.3.0)
   
       Current plugin: Independent Analytics (version 1.19.1)
   
       PHP version 5.6.40
   
       Error Details

       An error of type E_PARSE was caused in line 20 of the file /home/feelgood/domains/feel-goodies.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/independent-analytics/iawp-bootstrap.php. Error message: syntax error, unexpected ':', expecting '{'
       ```

 * Independent Analytics requires a minimum PHP version of **7.3.29**, so that is
   why you are seeing an error message. WordPress should have prevented the plugin
   from installing in the first place and mentioned that.
 * You can update to a newer version of PHP via your hosting account’s cPanel.
