WordPress failed to transfer content?

Hey, everyone!

I’m in the process of moving everything from one self-hosted WordPress site to another. I’m moving all of my posts, pages, etc. I found a tutorial online, as I’ve never done this before, and followed it exactly.

I logged into my old WordPress and exported the file with all of my content. Then, I logged into the new WordPress and used the Importer to upload all of my old WordPress files. Everything uploads without any trouble. It then takes me to a page where I’m asked to select the author for the posts I’ve uploaded, which I do.

Once I’ve submitted that information, I’m then redirected to the website and I get an error message stating, “Oops! That page can’t be found.”

Any idea what’s going wrong here? I’ve done everything exactly as the tutorial stated and I’ve tried it twice, but each time it fails. None of my blog posts, pages, etc. get transferred over. Any advice?
