# WordPress > Error

 * Have followed instructions to the letter and made sure my config file uses the
   correct mysql user, login, host and db but I still get this error?
    HELLLLLPPPPPPP!

 * Error establishing a database connection
    This either means that the username
   and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t 
   contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database
   server is down.
 * Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    Are you sure that you
   have typed the correct hostname? Are you sure that the database server is running?————-
   username password – correct. hostname – correct. database server – running.
 * I’m currently running a number of other apps on the same server with the same
   user, hostname, etc. and they’re all running fine.
    What else is there to check?

 * There’s not much anyone can add to that error message. It pretty much says it
   all.
