 * would like to know if there is an image uploader so users can upload images whilst
   using wordpress? so it also spits out a copy of the code for them to post on 
   forums and in emails.

 * You can use the sitewide media uploader at Media >> Add New, or the page-specific
   media uploader directly above the formatting links in the page/post editor. Ether
   way, it goes into the media library. You could use the HTML editor to copy the
   image code if you would like to use it somewhere else.
