# WordPress Multisite Issues – DNS Error

 * Alright, so from looking at the forums and other places online, this looks like
   an issue that has been hammered to the bone but I am still struggling with it
   and every answer I find has not worked with me. I created a wordpress site for
   my wife so that she can blog. We haven’t done much with it even though it’s been
   up for a long time but I wanted to see if I could create a sub domain as a part
   of this site. The original site for my wife is [http://www.houseofharrison.net](http://www.houseofharrison.net)
   and I was trying to create a sub domain vaping.houseofharrison.net. To do this,
   I first went through the process of adding multisite functionality to wordpress.
   I went step by step like this:
 * 1. logged into my cpanel hosted by bluehost and created a wildcard subdomain 
   of *.houseofharrison.net. Bluehost automatically put this file in root/public_html/
   wildcard.

 * You need to add a CNAME record to your domain pointing `vaping.houseofharrison.
   net` to `harrison.net`. DNS errors mean it’s not a WordPress problem.
 * Change your database password immediately as you had publicly posted your wp-
   config.php file.

 * okay, thank you. I will do that. Sorry for posting the wp-config.php file publicly.
   I guess I didn’t realize that the auth key was included in that. I looked up 
   really quick how to add a CNAME to my domain to point my subdomain to my main
   domain but when I go into the DNS Zone Editor in CPanel, I only see the main 
   domain listed. I don’t see the subdomain listed anywhere on the page. Is this
   something that you could help me set up or should I look for a forum discussing
   CPanel questions?

 * I decided not to use multisites through wordpress. The amount of issues people
   are having is not worth it for just a simple sub domain. I can see why I would
   want it for other sites but not this one. I instead am just setting up subdomains
   through my hosting company and that works like a charm with absolutely no issues
   whatsoever.
