WordPress not recognizing that plugins have updates available

I have a site that shows that all plugins are updated within the admin. Wordfence tells me otherwise.

I tried updating to WordPress 5.5. Still having the same problem. I did some research and found that adding a line to wpconfig that turns off disabling of autoupdate helps many, but did nothing for me.

When I go to the plugin page, I see the column for autoupdate, but nothing appears below it for each plugin. Any ideas as to what I can try?

Not sure if this would have anything to do with it but our host uses SFTP with SSH for logging in to update files on the server. Does that limit wordpresses ability to make updates within?
