# WordPress Parse Error? PLZ HELP!!

 * Hi there, I’ve just got my hosting account from Startlogic.com and I’m aware 
   that this hosting package supports wordpress. After I’ve set up a database and
   created a username and password. I’ve uploaded everything into the server directory.
   Unfortunately I’ve getting this error
 * > Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/danspiri/public_html/wp-includes/
   > classes.php on line 231
 * Any idea how to solve this problem? Please help!!

 * That seems to be a corrupted file.
    Upload the files again. What ftp client are
   you using?

 * I’m using Filezilla. In fact I’ve deleted it and done it again for the second
   time. Same results!!

 * Well, there is no $ in line 231 of that file.
    I’d try a fresh copy – meaning
   new download, new unzip… and replace that file.

 * moshu, is it just me or there’s actually something wrong with the download in
   wordpress.org? I’ve tried download but seems to be something wrong downloading
   it. Please help.

 * I just did a quick download and everything was OK.
    Note, it is the new 2.2.1
   version.
