# WordPress-powered webcomic?

 * Someone I know has asked me to set up some way for them to run a webcomic and
   I was wondering whether or not it would be possible to adapt WordPress to run
   it. They have very little knowledge of HTML so I want to use some kind of blogging/
   CMS software and WordPress is the one that I’m most familiar with, so is there
   a plugin or something designed for this purpose?
 * He’s either going to want something like [Penny Arcade](http://www.penny-arcade.com)
   where it has news posts on the main page and comics on their own seperate page,
   or something like [PVP](http://www.pvponline.com) where the newest comic is at
   the top of the main page with news posts underneath. I don’t really know enough
   PHP to write a bespoke solution but if there’s something similar I probably know
   enough to adapt it.

 * How about Random File from [http://www.coffee2code.com/wp-plugins/#randomfile](http://www.coffee2code.com/wp-plugins/#randomfile).
   You can add a random text file or a random image. Or both. I use it for a random
   image and a random quote. Very easy to set up.

 * Yeah, I did search and found both of them but they don’t contain any help on 
   actually making a WordPress powered webcomic. Thanks draegonlady for trying to
   help.
 * In the end I found a great PHP script for webcomics called [Walrus](http://www.lifeofwily.com/walrus/).
   With a little adaptation and a plugin to run PHP in pages (I’m using [PHPExec](http://priyadi.net/archives/2005/03/02/wordpress-php-exec-plugin/))
   it integrates perfectly into WordPress.

 * Not to take “business” away from WordPress, but if you’re looking for a real 
   good web comic script that is php-powered, you should check out [btPHP](http://www.enisoc.com/btphp.php).
 * The layouts and template system is very versitile, and you can use either straight
   php, or Smarty for styles/layout. The code is clean and fast, so you might want
   to check that out. Hope this helped a little, and wasn’t too late…
