# wordpress returns 404 when activated

 * recently I moved to a new environment based on Apache 2.4 and PHP 7.28 in Beanstalk.
   Then I downloaded plugin as usually do and when I was in admin panel and clicked
   on activate, WP returned a 404 error:
 * 10.0.101.230 (83.57.9.254) – – [19/Aug/2018:22:19:07 +0000] “GET /wp-admin/plugins.
   php?action=activate&plugin=wp-mail-smtp%2Fwp_mail_smtp.php&plugin_status=all&
   paged=1&s&_wpnonce=3c2453c703 HTTP/1.1” 302 366 “[https://www.rubenortiz.es/wp-admin/plugins.php&#8221](https://www.rubenortiz.es/wp-admin/plugins.php&#8221);“
   Mozilla/5.0
 * I did not see any error in apache logs. I activated other plugins with no error
   as well.
 * Any idea?

 * Can you check your PHP error log? That will probably provide better clues over
   the Apache log 🙂

 * sorry to bother you guys, turns out was an issue with WordPress Firewall 2. I
   disabled it and then WP back to normal behavior. I was able to activate the plugin.
