WordPress Search Not Finding Listings

    I am using the Flatsome theme and when I use the search that comes with the theme, it will not find listings. I have checked with the theme developer and their reply was “Flatsome theme uses WordPress coding standards so any plugin that uses these same standards should work with our theme.”

    Is there a setting within your plugin that I am missing? I am using Version 5.3.1 of your plugin,

    Thanks for contacting me here.

    Search in WordPress is a frustrating thing for almost everyone. Most themes use the default search capabilities of WP, and often, they use the most basic versions of that. BD uses custom post types (CPTs) and if the search doesn’t try to pull them up, then our listings look “invisible” to WP search, but not because of our plugin.

    Our plugin’s search definitely finds all of our listings with no problems. More advanced search plugins, like SearchWP will support custom post types out of the box and replace your WP default search easily. I’d suggest using one of those to help with this issue. WP search is just too basic to work for any plugin that adds CPTs.
