# WordPress to WordPress import problems

 * When I try to import my old blog into my new one, the posts are not tied to their
   categories, and they do not get tied to the correct author.
 * I’ve looked at the XML, and it looks OK.
    I”ve looked around in the forums, and
   i cant find anyone with thsi problem that wasnt’ fixed several years ago, and
   so i’m afraid that maybe the solution is not apropos my situation.
 * I’ve tried using Zappo’s improved importer, and it does some really good output
   of its progress, and it shows that the category is blank for all my posts, even
   though when i go and look at the XML, I see the category there.
 * If anyone has seen this kind of problem in the recent past, and can help me get
   this ironed out, I’d really appreciate it.
