# WordPress update – Installation Failed

 * Hello there,
 * I’m trying to update WordPress for a client from the dashboard but I keep getting
   the following message:
 *     ```
       Downloading update from http://wordpress.org/wordpress-3.9.1-new-bundled.zip…
   
       Unpacking the update…
   
       Could not create directory.: /usr/local/pem/vhosts/160838/webspace/siteapps/48379/htdocs/wp-content/upgrade/wordpress-3.tmp
   
       Installation Failed
       ```
   
 * Plugins won’t install or update either.
 * Any help would be greatly appreciated.
