• I know that updating WordPress is very important, but I still get scared because of the large amount of plugins I use that could potentially stop working. For this reason I do not update unless I start having issues with things. Plugins and mobile apps stop working when updated commonly, probably because of more variations of components.

The “WordPress 4.2.2 is available! Please update now.” notification pushes content down below the fold when editing a post/page. I like to see how many words I’m typing when putting up new posts and in a hurry plus other reasons. Because the updated notification pushes everything down I have to scroll in order to see the word count. The amount of space I need to scroll for is about the size of the update space. I might suggest putting it in a location where it is still red flag noticeable but making better use of the space.

I know I can adjust many things like browser window size, post/page typing window size to get desired results. More above the fold means bigger typing window for me with less scrolling needed for bigger content too.

Other than that looks great! Keep up the good work!

  • You sir have crappy plugins. If you update core to 4.2.2 and a plugin doesn’t work, then get a new one that gives you the same features.
