# WordPress updates, data back-up message

 * I have received the following message:
 * > Your backup folder MIGHT be visible to the public
   > To correct this issue, move the .htaccess file from wp-content/plugins/wp-dbmanager
   > to /homepages/44/d366649253/htdocs/app415987434/wp-content/backup-db
 * and I’m afraid I have no idea how to perform this function, where to find the.
   htaccess file in the first place, let alone move it to the homepages backup if
   I knew where that was.
 * Please can somoeone help with this so that I can update WordPress?

 * You need to use [FTP](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients) (or whatever file
   management application your host provides). Just ensure that the ftp software
   is configured to show all files as many ftp clients hide .htaccess files by default.

 * Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. I have contacted my host
   company to ensure that the ftp software is properly configured and hope that 
   I can then resolve this issue.
