# WordPress User Role Bug

 * We are having trouble on adding and editing User on my Site. The Role is not 
   updating and it is displaying as No Role on the List of Users. We have tried 
   to disable all the Plugin and change to a default WP Theme but still the User
   Roles are not updating. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

 * Hey there.
 * Don’t suppose you’re using the /mu-plugins/ folder?
 * When did the issue start to occur?
 * What changed at that point?
 * Used any role editor plugins before?
 * I tested on my install and I’m able to change roles.
 * When you posted you posted you selected 3.5.2 as the version you’re using, that
   was over a year ago and we’re now close to 4.0.
 * Probably best to start with getting up to date first and testing again.

 * No we are not using the mu-plugins but do have different redirection plugin. 
   Do you this may cause the error on the User Roles? I will ask my client if when
   this started to happen. Thanks for your reply.

 * You could quickly test by testing in the default theme and with no plugins enabled,

 * Hey there,
 * We have tried that several times but still the Role of a user is not changing.
   Is this possible that there is an error on the Database of the Users Table? We
   have change the theme to Default WordPress Theme and deactivated all the plugin
   but still the issue still exist. We cannot find any related articles regarding
   this issue on the forums and in google. Is there something else you can suggest?
