 * Hi guys,
 * When are we going to get a fixed VE that doesn’t decimate user created HTML code?
 * I’ve read many, many mean threads on this topic now and the solutions are always
   the same.
 * 1. Install a plugin that switches off wpautop… Great, but this doesn’t stop WordPress
   from removing tags such as <p> and css ID’s which are critical for on page layout.
 * 2. Disable the visual editor… Great, except that I sell my customers a website
   which is **content managed**, so telling them to edit in the HTML view, completely
   defeats the point of content management.
 * 3. Just deal with it, because that the way it is. That’s not a constructive or
   useful answer, so if it’s the point of view you’re prophesying; rather just keep
   it to yourself.
 * Firstly, let me clarify that I’m not going to town on in page HTML and using
   divs to do all my layup. However, for almost every site we’ve done there’s a
   certain visual aesthetic or site component that needs very specific HTML syntax
   to work correctly and maintain its visual style. We’re careful to insert these
   components with the minimum amount of HTML code.
 * Secondly, I am well aware that there may be workarounds for a number of these
   instances, such as writing our own short codes or plugins. Most of our projects
   don’t have sufficient budget to justify the additional development to do such
   things, especially since this would be a non issue if WordPress would just leave
   my HTML code intact when editing the page with the visual editor.
 * Any advice or guidance on this issue would be appreciated.
 * /Carl

 * I think you missed this item on the list. 😉

 * As you know WordPress has a dependency on using the TinyMCE editor. It has issues
   with raw HTML code being munged and that is a well known problem. It _does_ suck(
   when you want to use HTML) and everyone is aware of it. But there’s not a replacement
   at this time and sadly the work around you have listed above really are all that
   can be offered at this time.
