# wordpress website upload/migration

 * Hi,
 * I have cloud hosting and I’m having trouble uploading my website. I had the host
   company upload a previous website of my but I wanted to learn the process. I’ve
   read the guides regarding Cpanel but as I have cloud hosing it is slightly different.
   My host was netregistry.
 * As far as I know the Cpanel steps are:
    1. backup 2. export the wordpress database
   from phpmyadmin 3. create the database on the host server (this is done for me)
   4. edit wp-config.php file 5. import the database into phpmyadmin 6. Upload wordpress
   files to host (with FileZilla) 7. Fixing the URL
 * Could someone point me in the right direction.

 * You have the steps correct. The tricky one is step 7, “fixing the URL”. If you
   have command line access, you can use wp-cli as in `wp search-replace http://
   oldurl http://newurl`. If you don’t have a command line or can’t install wp-cli,

 * Also, before step 1, disable any and all caching plugins because you don’t want
   to backup and transfer cached files.
