# WordPress.com Stats & WordPress IP

 * Hi Friends!!
 * I’m trying to activate the plugin: WordPress.com Stats. I have my own WordPress
   blog resident in an independent hosting. I’ve got a WordPress account and therfore
   an API key. Everything fine so far.
 * Then to install the plugin, I uploaded the WordPress.com Stats Plugin folder,
   activated it, put my API key and then I got this message:
 * “**Your blog was unable to connect to WordPress.com. Please ask your host for
   help. (transport error – could not open socket: 13 Permission denied**)”
 * Next I’ve called my hosting company and asked them to open the socket 13, and
   they told me that you (wordpress support) have to give me “the IP address that
   it tries to reach at the end of installation to verify authentication so they
   can allowed that opening”.
 * So please, help me with that so we may finally activate this plugin, and the 
   Askimet one, later on, because maybe I’m going to have the same issue.
