 * i read almost everything i could find on this and i cannot find the answer. here
   is my deal…
 * i have a blog on wordpress.com. i want to switch to the org/hosted type. i signed
   up with siteground and used cpanel with the fantastico app. i installed everything
   and it seems to be fine. when i try to access my ‘new’ admin page and put in
   my user name and password it does not accept it and says it is wrong username.
   what it looks like though is my domain.com/wp-admin is just taking me back to
   the login page for wordpress.com. i registered the domain with godaddy which
   is forwarding the domain to the wp.com account. i cannot seem to be able to access
   the ‘new’ org account from anywhere. help…

 * You gave the answer to your question:
    _i registered the domain with godaddy
   which is **forwarding the domain to the wp.com** account._
 * If it is forwarded – it means it is forwarded. Remove that forwarding, otherwise
   you will never access your blog on that domain.
    Unless… you wanted your wp.com
   blog to be shown when somebody goes to your domain.
 * Note. Removing the forwarding it will display your new and empty blog!

 * thanks for the quick response.
 * so i basically have to do the import/export xml thing as quickly as possible
   so people do not access an empty blog? i was hoping to keep the folks directed
   to the .com site while i worked on the .org site and got it ready but i assume
   from what you are saying that is not possible?
 * thanks.

 * A domain is either redirected or not. As a wise saying in my mother tongue would
   put it: you cannot sit in two saddles with one ass 🙂
