# WP 2.7.1 Visual Editor link adding bug

 * When I highlight text and try to convert them into links, the screen goes gray
   and a dialog box pops up, but the dialog box is also gray, and impossible to 
   interact with; I’m forced to add links by means of manual HTML. But most annoying
   of all is that the dialog box is impossible to exit out of; hitting escape won’t
   work, and hitting the X for closing the dialog box won’t work either. The only
   way out is to close the window.

 * Deactivate all plugins and see if this resolves the issue.

 * I have exactly the same problem. WP 2.7, Safari 4. Deactivating plugins has no
   effect. Same problem with the add media dialog. Extremely annoying to the point
   where WP is nearly unusable.

 * Upgrading to 2.8.1 fixed it.
